TAYLOR STILL -- DRUMS

Taylor has jumped around between all sorts of musical ventures over the years but The Lava Rats has remained the project he keeps coming back to.  He certainly enjoys the challenge and excitement that comes with different gigs, more importantly, this trio is the only place where he feels he can go hog wild and not have anyone tell him to rein it in.  Pit orchestra conductors don’t have nearly as much patience for a double-kick, blatantly out of place, spazz-fill as Bill and Rodd are.  That's not to say he's just as comfortable laying back and supporting the other guys either.  He's happy to be a part of a well established surf trio that is respected by musicians and club bookers alike.  A great deal of credit must go to his wife Kelly, who has been encouraging since they've been together. She’s also understanding of what it means to be a musician: she's willing to jump in and haul gear when she's at shows.  Bonus!
